Well, today Rini was accidentally bred to our stud dog, Henry. It was a simple mistake, but of course I flipped out. All of our dogs live in the house and we do not typically crate any dogs, so handling girls in season is complicated. We were watching a movie and had the lights off in the living room. We have two fawn brindle dogs, Chippy who is a girl, and Henry who is a boy.
I was putting Henry outside to go potty, and as normal Derek was stationed at the back door to usher him through. I let Henry out of the bedroom where he was sleeping, sent him through the living room, and asked Derek if he had him. In the meantime, Chippy had gone to Derek because she wanted out, too. He replied that he had Henry, and put Chippy outside. In less than a minute, Henry and Rini were "together" and that's all she wrote. Sigh. They say an "oops litter" happens to the best of them. We'll see what happens. It's day 13 of her season so she is completely, totally fertile today.
